MYD held a successful Youth Encounter in Bristol

The Methodist Young Disciples (MYD) held a successful Youth Encounter Christmas Ball in Bristol on Saturday 18th November 2017, at Victoria Methodist Church. The event held for the second time has become one of the youth's exciting annual event. Youths from across the Fellowship's branches supported by their advisors attended the event, which was held in a beautifully decorated victorian building in the heart of Bristol.

Besides the youths including those from Scotland and their advisors some of the people who graced

the occassion included Revd Richard Sharpe, Minister at Victoria Methodist Church who welcomed the gathering, Revd Chaplain Sibanda and amai, Revd Sachikonye, and National Committee representatives, Mr Gabriel Gidi, National steward and Martin Nyamupingidza, National Organising Secretary, Youth Board and their Coordinators, advisors from different branches and host branch, Bristol which was represented by its local committee chaired by Mr Tichaona Madziya.

The annual flagship event focussed on the theme of Giving and Christmas . The gathering was first welcomed by Revd Sharpe and listened to powerful and uplifting devotions by Revd Chaplain Sibanda followed by dinner of delicious food prepared by youths. For the entire evening it was a mix of music and listening to teachings on the following topics:  Giving your faith to God delivered by Nyasha Gondavakuru, Giving & Charity, Be Inspired- Living in the diaspora by Mr Zwelo Dube and Giving your troubles to God by Mrs Mwadzi. MYD hope with support from youth, advisors and branches, this annual event could grow bigger and result in more Youths taking an active part in Fellowship activities.
