From The Chaplain's Desk

Prayer diary for month of January 2017

Message from our Chaplain Revd Cleopas Sibanda

It is your own face that you see reflected on the water and it is your own self that you see in your heart. Our words and actions reveal what is in our hearts.

The heart is not merely the seat of affections but it is the centre of everything. The heart is the central altar and the body is the outer court. What we offer on the altar of the heart will tell ultimately through the extremities of the body (Oswald Chambers).

It is the centre of all thinking and all willing as well as all feeling. M.S Fletcher says it is the seat and organ of the man’s conscious life in the moral, intellectual, volitional and emotional aspects. The Prophet Jeremiah says, the heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve (Jeremiah 17:9-10).  From the heart comes our salvation and from the same heart comes our condemnation depending on how we use it.

Our theme this year is warmed hearts. May your hearts be warmed by the holy spirit so that it may produce a complete human being who in turn produces a church full of people with warmed hearts. I therefore welcome you to our days of prayer and fasting. In the past year, the Lord has done marvellous things to us as his children. We have had a fresh experience of God through worship, praise, teaching, prayer and fellowship. Most of us received what they were praying for. Indeed, “God has been with us all the time” in 2016 and he is still with us in this New year. Everyone should experience the Holy spirit. John Wesley felt his heart strangely warmed when he had a personal encounter with Christ at Aldersgate.

Be warmed so that you warm others in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

For those who can fast let us fast every Wednesday
